Life Blog One

Because one has to start somewhere

Where to begin?

I’ve had several blogs over the years and each of them has been based around a different aspect of my personal life and activities. Because of that restraint none of them has had the ability to allow me to just speak my mind on matters that affect, inspire or annoy me; everything has been too “one dimensional”.

This blog has no boundaries attached to it though, so I can speak my mind on anything and everything that may enter my head, no matter what the subject may be.

I see this as editorial freedom.

I’m aware that this goes against the generally perceived notion that in order to create a “following” one has to specialise in one particular subject matter, but I’m not worried about that because that isn’t the aim of this blog. The aim is to allow me to share whatever is on my mind at a particular time with whoever may happen to pass by, and if people decide to follow me then that’s fine too.

I don’t “do” (anti)social media. I detest Facebook. I’ve only ever sent one tweet (to Channel 4’s American Football programme), and am not on Discord or any other similar, mindless monstrosity.

I’m “Old School”, with the emphasis on the “Old”. I have certain difficulties using the telephone so prefer emails or text messages to keep in touch with people. Simples!

But everyone needs an outlet, and you’ve stumbled across mine. Subject matter may include any/all of the following and probably more besides …

  • Current affairs
  • Astronomy / Space Travel
  • Photography
  • Sport
  • Music
  • Health
  • Equality issues
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Second Life
  • Moans and gripes (well, where else can I let off some steam?)

It’s five years since I last posted to any of my other blogs, so don’t expect a daily update, but I hope to manage a couple of posts a week, maybe more. We’ll just see how it goes.

That’s it. Take care. Bye for now!

  1. Welp, you had me at Hello 🙂 I, too, started my blog earlier this year to get out of the niche boxes I’ve previously put myself in. My current space is just *me* and I love it. I hope you find exactly what you’re looking for in this new space and look forward to seeing how it unfolds for you! Welcome to the other side ❤

    1. Hi Melissa.
      Thanks for the encouragement.
You seem to fill your time well, whereas I consider I’ve done well if I achieve one thing in a day.
I guess the message is “Don’t get old”. Oh, no … that came out wrong …
      Have a good day.
